Understanding Drinking Water Quality

What is TDS in Water?

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) measures minerals, salts, and metals dissolved in water. Ideal TDS levels range from 50-150 ppm for drinking water.

When Is Water Unsafe?

Watch for cloudy appearance, unusual odor, strange taste, or visible particles. High TDS above 500 ppm or presence of bacteria indicates unsafe water.

Travel Water Safety Tips

Use bottled water from sealed containers, avoid ice cubes, carry a portable water purifier, and boil water for at least one minute when in doubt.
